About

The ATA Local #41
ATA Local 41, known as the Lethbridge Public School Local 41, is dedicated to serving its members in various capacities. The local is a part of the Alberta Teachers Association, which is comprised of 55 locals across Alberta. The ATA represents all teachers and teacher administrators in Alberta’s public, separate, and francophone school divisions across the province.
Our local is lead by an executive committee comprising dedicated educators who hold various positions such as President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary, committee chair positions and others. Each member of the executive team is responsible for different facets of the local’s operations, from political engagement to professional development and teacher welfare. This structured leadership ensures that the local addresses the diverse needs and concerns of its members effectively.
ATA Local 41 provides its members access to a range of committees, each dedicated to specific aspects of educational and professional development. These include committees focused on professional development, political engagement, teacher welfare, and communications. Participation in these committees allows members to influence educational policies, engage with peers, and develop professionally.
Serving on these committees benefits members by offering opportunities for active participation in decision-making, professional growth, and networking. It enables educators to contribute to their community, enhance their leadership skills, and stay engaged with the latest developments in the education sector.
Comparatively, ATA Local 41, like other ATA locals, is designed to address the unique needs and circumstances of its members. While all locals under the ATA umbrella share the common goal of advancing the interests and welfare of educators, each local adapts its activities and initiatives to best serve its members within their specific contexts. Whether it’s through professional development opportunities, political advocacy, or member support services, ATA Local 41 exemplifies the ATA’s commitment to fostering a supportive and progressive environment for teachers in Alberta.
